Since recently a Klompenpad starts in Oldebroek. A hiking route of 16 kilometres through the diverse rural area of Oldebroek and Wezep. Of course there are even more hiking routes!
Johannesberg is not far from 2 LF cycling routes, more specifically LF NAP route 9, the LF 23 and also a number of junction routes, the Renderklippen route, Veluws Landleven route and the Veluws Verledenroute.
Elburg has a number of unique museums. For example the Sjoel; a museum about Jewish life in Elburg. In 2010 the Sjoel won the Mont Blanc Museum award for Best Small Museum. Definitely worth a visit!
Also nice: visiting the Botterwerf. Elburg is famous for its botters, and every year we celebrate the botter weekend (second weekend of September). A spectacle in the harbour of Elburg. The harbour is full of old botters, beautiful to look at! There is a lot of music in the city and at the market. On the botter wharf you can see how a botter is renovated and maintained. The botter wharf has adapted opening hours.
In Oldebroek there is De Bovenstreek farm museum. This is a farm from 1753. The farm presents a clear image of what farm life used to be like.
Further away from Johannesberg it is nice to visit the bakery museum in Hattem. And if you are in Hattem anyway, how about the Anton Pieck museum, also worth a visit!
